PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs | Friday Night NSO - First Look

Overall, PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is good! I had a blast on my own but had even more fun having Chris and Shannon in my party while playing (think Fortnite + button in the lobby - if they are on your friends list in the game (not for Switch - for the game), they can be added to your party).

  • Tutorial is slow and boring - you can't play Elimination until you get passed the tutorial. But once you get through it, it's a fun game.
  • Elimination is unlocked once you get through the tutorial. This is where you are playing against other players, cross-platform, to be the last Pac standing.
  • Up-to 63 other people can be playing in Elimination.
  • You get 3 lives and can earn more to stay in the game.
  • To avoid being eliminated, don't lose those lives by getting chomped or being in a player's maze that gets eliminated from the grid.
  • There are gates you can pass through to get you to other players' mazes (like the side portals that get you from one side of the maze to the other).
  • These gates open and close for a set duration, so you could be stuck in a maze if you aren't paying attention.
  • There are missions that can also be cleared for extra points/xp (e.g. Chomp 3 ghosts before time runs out, or chomp a pac-man).
  • There are power-ups to help you in the game: shields, speed, ghost repellant, 1-ups, etc.
  • You can personalize your pac-man, too (cosmetics).
  • Once you reach Level 10, you can be ranked and enter ranked play (which is more competitive, and you play against others around your rank, which in turn adds you to the leaderboard).

PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is not only available on Nintendo Switch, it is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC!
